Last night we read about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
and how they bravely faced death for standing up for the truths of God (from
Daniel 3). As we were talking about it, Sarah (8) said if someone threatened
her, she wouldn’t be afraid because she knew she would go to heaven, where it
is perfect. (I pray the Holy Spirit never lets her lose the confidence she has in
God and His eternal plans!)
Our Bible reading and devotional time last night tied
right in with the passage of Scripture we had started memorizing the day before
from Matthew!
Matthew 10:28-33 28 Do not be
afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid
of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are
not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground
outside your Father’s care. 30 And
even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So
don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
32 “Whoever
acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in
heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I
will disown before my Father in heaven.
Where are you and I afraid to take a stand for God? Let’s remember He is with us and won’t let anything happen outside of His plan and care.
