About Shane Morin

Hello, my name is Shane Morin. Thank you for visiting Workplace Devotions!

By the Lord’s grace and mercy, I was saved from eternal damnation by coming to a saving faith in Jesus Christ back in the summer of 1995.

My life began in a very dysfunctional single parent home with my mother who led me to believe my father had died when I was 4 years old. In my teen years, I found out the painful truth… My mother had NO IDEA who my father was! She had led a very promiscuous life and just could not “put her finger on it”. Throughout my entire childhood there were MANY men who would come and go, most of which were very bad role models for me. I knew everyone and everything but God and experienced a life in which a child ought not to be exposed. The instability of my home life was very difficult for me to cope with. It caused me to grow bitter, angry, uncaring and I quickly learned to trust no one.

At the age of 20, I met Ann – my soon to be wife – and her 2 year-old son Nick. We were married a year later. However, due to our past pain and terrible childhoods, we suffered through an awful, Godless marriage relationship. I was very mean and abusive with Ann and we fought constantly. I had no idea what a good relationship looked like or how a man should relate to a woman. I didn’t want children because I had no idea of how to be a father and used the excuse that I didn’t want them to have the same life I had. But the truth was- I was afraid to raise children.

Through a series of life changing events, at the age of 28, God stepped into my life through a friend and business associate. By the Gospel message of faith and repentance from sin, we learned of the love and forgiveness that Jesus Christ offers for anyone willing to receive it. I found hope and encouragement in Him and for the first time in my life I realized the true joy found only in Jesus Christ. These days, our family still grieves from the effects and consequences of our decisions. But true healing is possible in Jesus Christ. He is the God of new beginnings! The ONLY way to be victorious over our sins and suffering is to turn them over to Him.

With all of our sin and sadness, God, in His love, grace and forgiveness, has graciously blessed Ann and I with 3 beautiful, precious and healthy children- Nick, Kristina and Justin. I do not deserve them and would not trade them for anything in the world. We have been married for 25 years now and I consider myself blessed beyond measure!

My mother past away several years ago and to this day, I have never met my biological father. But I know my Father in Heaven! He loves and forgives me, understands my pain and by His grace is using my life as a blessing and encouragement to others – Praise the Lord!

Ann and I now enjoy mentoring our 3 young adult children as they too seek the Lord Jesus Christ.

Another great passion of mine is the teaching of God's Word and the importance of a Biblical worldview, Biblical apologetics and Biblical theology & doctrine through my ministry as a Biblical Worldview Instructor as well as writing for our popular Encouraging Concepts Christian Worldview email publications & blog spot: http://encouragingconcepts.blogspot.com

Thank you and God bless! <><
