Luke 16: 10-12 “He who is faithful in a very
little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very
little thing is unrighteous also in much. Therefore if you have not been
faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to
you? And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is
another’s, who will give you that which is your own?” (NASB)
Hello,
A couple things from these verses on quantity:
1) It comes secondarily – the quality must be there first.
The old Ford motto of “Quality is Job 1” rings through for
me from these verses. So often in today’s society we are quantity driven. The
focus becomes on more – and how quickly can the more happen. We look at people
or companies that put real focus on quality over quantity and almost treat them
as a novelty.
Also, 2) it is given/entrusted – it is not gathered or obtained
by the person.
The verses don’t say that the unfaithful person can’t get more
on their own as they had success, but rather that more wouldn’t be given to
them. Our handling/faithfulness will be obvious – and certainly not hidden from
God – and this drives what else will or will not be entrusted to us.
Don’t focus on your quantity – keep your focus on faithfully
handling well what has been given to you.
Have a blessed day,
