Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing from selfishness
or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more
important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but
also for the interests of others.” (NASB)
Hello,
Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking (yes, it does
hurt…) – and wondering if I have been putting my plans and decisions through
the proper filters before acting on them. I think that the above 2 verses are a
tremendous filter. These verses are not about the outward part of the action,
but the ‘why’ or motivational part of what is done. We have to be able to be
honest with ourselves. When we evaluate our motives are we rationalizing, or
truly evaluating and putting them through the proper filters?
I challenge all of us to find a few scripture verses as
those above to be able to use as filters for our plans and decisions.
Have a blessed day,
