Tues Devo: The example

1 Corinthians 11:1 “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.” (NASB)

Hello,

You ever look at your children and wonder where they learned those awful habits? Both my 4 and 2 year old drink the milk out of their cereal bowl. Who taught them that? My son has started to not undo the velcro on his shoes when taking them off. I have been working hard on that one. Then, the other day I was carrying my daughter into the house while my son walked. I slipped my shoes off, and then told him to undo his velcro…..he then asked me why I didn’t undo my shoes before taking them off…….now we know where they learned all those terrible habits! I wanted to make the excuse of carrying his sister and not having a hand, but if he tried an equivalent excuse with me I would have told him to put his stuff down first, and then undo his shoes.
Our actions matter! We are being watched. We are watched by God- He knows what we do, but we are also watched by those around us who are working through their own relationship with God. And, as we claim to have a relationship with God how we choose to act has an impact on other impressions and choices as well.

Choose well - be ready to be imitated for the glory of God.

Have a blessed day,
