Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me
together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are
wonderful,
I know that full
well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in
the secret place,
when I was woven
together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days
ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them
came to be.
This time of year is a very special time for me. It was right close to this date 3 years ago
that I found out for the first time that I was pregnant. What a special thing! It was also this week, 2 years ago that I
gave birth to my son. Again a special
thing! Now you’re probably trying to
figure out the math on those two and saying that they just don’t add up. You’re right because they were not the same
pregnancy. However, both are very
special to me because God knit together both babies in my womb. My first baby’s frame may have been hidden
from me, however it was never hidden from God.
God saw that baby’s unformed body and the days ordained for that baby
were written in God’s book. Now, they
may not have been long, however right from the start, that life was
special.
Tomorrow is not promised for anyone. God formed us and numbered our days while we
were still in our mother’s womb. Some
have long years here on earth while others are limited.
A few of my friends this past week experienced losing a
loved one. Some expected, some very
unexpected.
Friend, I want to encourage you today to praise God because
you are fearfully and wonderfully made!
He loved you before your mother knew you were in her womb.
