Whom Shell I Fear? continued

Deuteronomy 10:12-13

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,  and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?

Last week I wrote how we are to fear God, not this word.  I didn’t take it far enough and a couple of you added to what I wrote so thank you!  They were exactly right, we are to fear God however in the sense that we fear him with respect.  Our fear of God is what keeps us walking in obedience to him, loving him and serving him with all that is within us.  It is why we keep the Lord’s commandments.

God will protect us from the earthly fears that we face.  He will be there to carry us through the hard times, when we live for him even in the good times.
