Hello,
How often we look at what is going on and rush to judge the events.
Problem is, we judge the now and not what may be later. When we get a little
bit of discipline for patience and trust – how different our perspective is. No
one perhaps in scripture embodies this more than Joseph. He goes through not
just bad circumstances, but bad circumstances as a result of direct evil
intentions. From his family, from close friends, from those he had helped. But Joseph
doesn’t show signs of getting caught in the emotion of the negative moments. He
walks in trust of God. He speaks to this at the end of his life when his
brothers (who started all this mess!) find out who he is.
Genesis 50:18-21 “Then his brothers also came and fell
down before him and said, “Behold, we are your servants.” But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in God’s
place? As for
you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in
order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive. So therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for
you and your little ones.” So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.”
(NASB)
Joseph knew God was in charge, and while he didn’t know what
was going to happen – he stayed the course to see the result of God working
though and in the tough stuff.
Maybe today you are seeing things happen around or to you
that are out of your control, and you do not understand. Will you choose to let
things play out through trust in God? Will you wait to give judgement until
things play out? Will your stated trust in God and His control be lived out in
your attitude and responses?
I pray this challenges us all today,
