Luke 2:8-12
And there were shepherds living out in the fields
nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the
glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I
bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born
to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will
find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Think about a time that you had good news. Maybe it was that you were expecting a baby
or maybe it was a new job. When you have good news, you typically want to shout
it from the rooftops. Both of those
however, are situations that you may not be able to show it from the rooftops
right away.
When Christ was born, the good news could not be
contained. It was too great and
therefore brought forth a huge announcement.
As we approach Christmas, the excitement of Christ’s birth is still
alive today. It is something that we
should still be excited to share with everyone we come in contact with.
How are you sharing the good news of Christ’s
birth? Do you shout it from the
rooftops? Today I want to encourage you
to not withhold this fabulous news. It
may just be what leads someone else to be reborn and have their own good news
to share.
Merry Christmas!
