Psalm 46:10a
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God.
This morning, as I sent my son off to his first day of first
grade, I felt that I kept telling my heart to be still. My son has been in daycare since he was 10
weeks old. He started pre-school at 3
and so when I sent him off to Kindergarten, it really didn’t seem to bug
me. This morning though, I must admit
that I kind of felt like he was so much more grown up as he got on the
bus.
While I kept needing to remind my heart to be still this
morning, God also tells us to be still.
Be still, and know that he is God.
He is out refuge and strength. He
is with us. He will be exalted.
Today, as many of us send our kids back to school, or face
something else in our lives, be still.
Know that the Lord is your refuge and strength. Turn to him doing these times.
