1 Peter 4:10
Each of you should use whatever
gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in
its various forms.
While I certainly don’t know all of you, there are many of
you that I do know. I would have to say
for those that I know, you are all very much in tune to helping others, serving
others. I’m sure many of you that I don’t
know are the same way. Why is this? Because as Christians, we have been given the
gift from God to serve others.
How are you at being served though? I know for me, it’s hard to let someone else
take care of me. For the past 2 months
now, I’ve had to depend on my husband to take care of many of the household
chores I normally take care of. He’s had
to drive me all over the place. This has
really stressed me out because I want to take care of him rather than him
taking care of me.
1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore,
under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
While it is important to serve others, it is also important
to humble yourself. For me right now,
this means I must humble myself and allow others to serve me. This is a really hard lesson for me to learn
and relinquish control to someone else, yet at the same time, it’s has helped
to ground me a bit.
Is there something happening in your life, where you can
either serve others or where you can allow someone else to serve you and you
can be humbled?
